A Look Back at Ford in 2011

As one year ends, another beings, and this is usually a time that people take to both reflect on the past and plan for the future. While we here at Freedom Ford are looking forward to our favorite American automakers impending success in the 2012 model year, we also know that it's important to frame that success in some level of context. That's why we'd like to take a moment to cover the company's biggest accomplishments in 2011.

First, there's the EcoBoost engine. Ford revolutionized the use of this green powerplant by equipping it in models like the best-selling F-150 and Explorer. And for those of you who think that a green engine has no place in a truck or SUV, let us tell you that it comes in a powerful 365-hp twin-turbo 3.5 liter V6 flavor, which packs both fuel savings and raw power.

Another big trend for Ford in 2011 was the public's interest in powerful vehicles like the Mustang. This big spike in interest has reportedly made its way to the top of the Ford food chain too, as the company is even considering an EcoBoost-equipped variant for next year as well.

And finally, there's the Ford Ecos Concept car, which made its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The enticing vehicle featured a wide range of future design elements that everyone here at 7520 N. Military Highway Norfolk, VA 23518 couldn't get enough of. We can only wonder what future vehicles will be lucky to pack some of the design language of this model into their body, and we can't wait to see!

And with that we look forward to the future. What will 2012 truly bring for Ford? Only time will tell, but you can count on everyone here at Freedom Ford to keep you informed on the current new Ford lineup, from models like the Ford F-350 and Edge to the Fiesta and Focus. Of course, if you're simply interested in learning more about how to best finance or lease them or how to best service your next Ford with genuine parts, we can help there too.
