Ford Crashes 12,000 Focuses

Ford is really passionate about their testing of automobiles before each hits dealership lots. So passionate, in fact, that the auto maker crashed a total of 12,000 Ford Focus models - but not all were real.

Institute for Highway Safety crashed-tested the new Focus more than 12,000 times in real and virtual worlds. Ford says its new Focus, which arrives early next year, "underwent crash simulations so realistic that that the number of physical vehicle crash tests has been significantly reduced."

2011 5.0 Liter Ford Mustang GT

2011 will see an all new 5.0 liter V8 Ford Mustang GT, based on the classic 1964 (and a 1/2) Mustang GT. This will trump Ford's entry-level 4.0-liter V6 engine that pushed 210 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. Both offer a five-speed manual gearbox or optional five-speed automatic. Either combination proves 0 - 62 mph in 7.8 seconds with the manual.
